Manly Warringah Football Association is delighted to congratulate Life Member Keith Pester on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours.
Keith was recognised for his significant service to football administration, a fitting honour for one of the most respected and influential figures in Northern Beaches football.
For more than four decades, Keith has dedicated countless hours to the growth and development of the game. His contribution to MWFA alone spans more than 25 years, including serving as Vice President from 1998 to 2020, President of Representative Football, Publicity Officer, Judiciary Officer and, more recently, as a valued Board Member. His leadership, commitment and vision have helped shape the Association and the football experiences of thousands of players, coaches, referees and volunteers.
In recognition of his outstanding service, Keith was awarded Life Membership of MWFA in 2000. He is also a Life Member of Wakehurst FC and Manly United FC, reflecting the extraordinary impact he has had across every level of the game.
While his achievements and honours are many, Keith’s legacy is perhaps best measured by the strength of football on the Northern Beaches today. Generations of players have benefited from the pathways, programs and opportunities that he helped create, while countless volunteers have drawn on his guidance, support and wisdom.
The award of an OAM is a richly deserved recognition of a lifetime devoted to football and community service.
On behalf of the entire MWFA family, we congratulate Keith on this remarkable achievement and thank him for his extraordinary contribution to our game.
