Pittwater Crowned Champions.. Again

Pittwater FC have claimed their second title of the season after being crowned premier league champions for the 2022 season.

With an astonishing 19 wins, two draws and only one loss Pittwater proved to the Northern Beaches football community that they truly are a quality football side.

Pittwater’s goal of winning the title started back in pre-season according to coach Adam Israel.

“At the start of the season we set out to compete in everything we entered with the PL as our number 1 goal,” Israel said.

“Everything we did this season was geared towards the league title – it is the one trophy every club wants to win.”

Now after 22 rounds Pittwater can proudly hold the trophy.

“As a coach it’s extremely satisfying as it means we’ve got it right more often than not over a long period.

“Our preseason was long and difficult – I kept asking for patience as it would pay off in the end and it has.”

It was not the easiest season for Pittwater either, with the consistent rain fall the squad did not play a single game at their home ground, however this did not stop their determination or commitment.

“It means the world to the squad as they can comfortably call themselves the best team in the league.

“To beat every team, win by 8 points and also win the knockout cup – it’s an extremely dominant performance especially with limited access to pitches for training and not playing one game at our home ground,” Israel said.

“That hampered our preparation, but the boy’s attitude has been on a different level this year.”

The 2022 season was not just about first grade though as reserve grade also secured their place in the finals after finishing the season in second place, proving that Pittwater are here to stay and doing their coach proud.

“We’ve recruited well in terms of younger players with a view for the future mixed in with the experienced older heads.

“I’m unbelievably proud of the entire squad. I could never articulate it accurately enough.

“I’ve set ridiculously high standards and levels of fitness and style of play they continued to pass those expectations,” Israel said.

Now Pittwater turn their attention to Saturday as they prepare for a semi-final clash against Wakehurst at 2:30pm on Cromer Park, Field 1.
