Seaforth FC Women’s Premier League have made club history after being crowned Women’s Premier League Champions following an undefeated 2022 season.

Finishing the season with 14 wins and two draws Seaforth topped the table with 44 points to become Seaforth FC’s first ever women’s top division champions.

To add to the achievement the squads reserve grade side also claimed the champion’s title.

With many Seaforth juniors in the squad winning the league title and creating club history has been a dream come true.

“It means a lot for the girls to win the league title. We’ve got players that have been involved with the club for a long time and this is their first league title” coach Chris Wood said.

“It’s even more special to have won both titles as our reserve graders push our first graders every week to be better, and challenge for their spots. So, it’s nice for that group to be rewarded as well.”

The team managed to only concede five goals for the entirety of the 2022 season whilst clocking up 45 goals at the other end of the pitch.

“We couldn’t be more proud of them, Riley and I have pushed them to their limits this season and they’ve responded to it in emphatic style.

“Going undefeated for the season in first grade just shows how committed our squad is and only conceding 5 goals proves that we’ve been relentless in the pursuit of perfection” and they are not planning on stopping now as they approach semi-finals.

“We are treating finals like any other game week in terms of preparation, but we are definitely cautious of our opposition as everything we have won this season becomes irrelevant in a one off game,” said Wood.

Seaforth will face Beacon Hill this Sunday in the 1v4 final at Melwood Oval at 2:30pm for their place in the grand final, whilst their reserve grade will kick off at 12:15pm against Manly Vale.
