MWFA profile: Ben Collock

BEN Collock can’t imagine life without his beloved Pittwater RSL FC.

Growing up in Mona Vale and attending Pittwater High, it made sense his second ‘home’ was Kitchener.

“I’ve been involved with the club since I was five years old,” Collock said.

“Eventually I started juggling playing with coaching and then joined the club committee.”

He is Pittwater’s coaching director and also oversees the men’s Premier League Reserve Grade squad.

“I’m really enjoying the role, working with good players on the same page,” the 31-year-old said.

“We have been fortunate to have a golden generation at the club in Prems for a long time, but nothing lasts forever.

“Plans are in place to see our emerging juniors stay with the club before moving into senior football.”

Collock, who runs his own computer repair business, also wants to strengthen the women’s program.

“Long term, we would love to again field a Premier League squad, but we aren’t quite there yet,” he said.

“I love how everyone works together at the club, that is why success has followed at all levels in my opinion.

“Our president (Annette Burgoyne) is such a great operator, she is the main reason the club runs like clockwork.”
