SEAFORTH sent out a message they will be a contender for silverware in the women’s MWFA Premier League after outclassing Forest Killarney 8-0 on Sunday at Melwood Oval.
The hosts were light on depth, but it didn’t stop a rampant performance from Ash Mathieson’s girls.
Alyssa Deal finished with a hat-trick, with Skye Ludlow (2), Siena Moss, Alex Miller and Hannah Griffiths also finding the back of the net.
Despite the emphatic result, Mathieson isn’t getting carried away.
“Forest Killarney are a young side with not much depth, but they didn’t stop trying,” the Seaforth coachsaid.
“The heat was also a factor as well.
“I was happy we stepped it up in the second half, it was only 2-0 at halftime.
“I’m sure once (player-coach)Hannah (Bromley) plays, they will improve and frustrate teams throughout the year.”
Other games saw Beacon Hill stun Avalon 2-1, Wakehurst edged out Brookvale 3-2 and Manly Allambie-Manly Vale finished 1-1.
