CC Strikers coach Ryan Butcher hailed the clinical nature of his team after they impressed in a 3-1 win versus Wakehurst in round one of the MWFA Premier League.
Following a scoreless first half, Butcher stressed the need for patience and his team delivered.
Captain Luke Curnow finished with a brace, with Amii Keita the other goal-scorer at Lionel Watts on Saturday.
“It was a strong performance first up,” Butcher said.
“Lionel Watts is a tough place to get a result, Wakehurst are always well organised and direct.
“They scored with the last kick of the game, so overall it was a great afternoon.”
Other games saw a goal from Justin Ciabatti seal a 1-0 triumph for Brookvale against Dee Why under lights on Friday nightat Cromer Park, Pittwater RSL FC outclassed Mosman 3-0, Seaforth and Narrabeen finished all square at 1-1 and St Augustine’s beat Manly Vale 2-0.
