A NEW look Seaforth squad has given coach Ash Mathieson cause for optimism leading into their round one encounter with Forest Killarney this Sunday at Melwood Oval.

Close to a dozen players left Forest Killarney in the off-season to join Seaforth, adding spice to this weekend’s game.

“I’m sure it will be interesting for a few of our girls, it is safe to say the surroundings will be familiar,” Mathieson said.

“To be honest I’m not fussedaboutwhat is happening with Forest Killarney, my concern is my squad.

“Losing Sharna Barras (ACL)and Kiho Sato (ankle)to season ending injuries will hurt, but it gives other players the opportunity to prove they belong in first grade.”

Other 3pm games see Manly Allambie, featuring ex Manly United stars Tess Olsen and Ellen Wheatley, square off versus Manly Vale at Millers Reserve, Brookvale host Wakehurst at Graham Reserve and Beacon Hill tackle competition favourites Avalon on home soil at Beacon Hill Oval.
