CC Strikers are still in the hunt for the top four after beating Pittwater RSL FC 3-1 on Saturday.
Skipper Luke Curnow (2) and Sam Webber scored the goals at Kitchener, ending Pitts’ dreams of an unbeaten season in the league.
Ryan Butcher was elated with the level of desire from his team.
“We needed three points to be any hope of playing in the semis and the lads responded,” the CC Strikers boss said.
“It was a good performance, even though we started a little slowly.
“What we did off the ball was good, we pressed for 90 minutes and ultimately delivered under pressure.”
Elsewhere, Brookvale and Seaforth drew 1-1, Manly Vale can still avoid the drop after a 1-0 win versus Mosman, Wakehurst dusted Narrabeen 3-1 on the road and Dee Why outclassed St Augustine’s 4-1.
