AVALONcoach Larry Bates remains convinced his team is semi-final bound – despite losing 4-3 to Beacon Hill on Sunday afternoon at Careel Bay.
The Reds, sitting in fourth on 29 points, entered the home clash knowing a win or draw would give them breathing distance over fifth placed Forest Killarney.
“We gave them (Beacon Hill) a game, on another day we could have beaten them,” Bates said.
“It makes this weekend against Forest even more enticing.
“Our girls will be up for the fight.”
Elsewhere on Sunday, Manly Vale beat Forest Killarney 1-0, Wakehurst outclassed HSU 7-0 and Seaforth shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Brookvale.
A win for Vale next round will see them crowned major premiers.
