Manly Warringah Football Association would like to congratulate Wendy Waters on receiving the MWFA’s Meritorious Service Award for her years of dedication and commitment that she has given to Narrabeen Football Club and her positive influence on the broader footballing community.
Wendy joined the Narrabeen Football Club Committee as Club Secretary in 2008 and held this crucial role for 4 years up to and including 2011.
After having a season off from committee duties in 2012, Wendy returned to the club and created history by taking on the role of Club President in 2013, making Wendy the first and still the only woman to have held this position at Narrabeen Football Club.
Wendy put her impeccable administration skills to good use for the following 5 years as Assistant Registrar from 2014 to 2018. Wendy continued as Women’s Registrar for 3 more years from 2019 to 2021 and assisted greatly in the process of rapidly growing numbers of participants, particularly in the women’s football ranks.
Outside of Narrabeen Football Club commitments, Wendy has managed her sons’ teams for several years as well as holding a director’s position on the Narrabeen Youth Club Committee for 10 years.
Fortunately, Wendy has also been able to enjoy her love for the game on the field as a player in various senior women’s competitions from 2012 to 2021 and has also been a member of the MWFRA as a referee.
Wendy’s tenacity, selflessness and dedication is just as evident on the field as it has been in the many roles she has held within the club for the past 13 years.
Wendy has been an absolutely massive asset to the Narrabeen Football Club community. However, Wendy has sadly decided to step down from her role at the end of the 2021 season. She will be greatly missed and leaves an incredibly big pair of shoes to fill in her absence.
