Football is Back!

The 2022 season has been long awaited after two disrupted years of football; however, it has finally arrived.

The Men’s Premier League kicks off this Sunday at Cromer Park 2 and Narrabeen Sports High with reserve grade matches starting at 9am.

12 clubs will compete in the MWFA’s top league once again this year and will welcome two new clubs to the competition after Manly Vale’s relegation and Seaforth FC decided not to participate this season.

Beacon Hill will be joining the ranks after being promoted following the 2021 season. Whilst Forest Killarney fought their way to the top through a play-off against Manly Vale, winning 4-1.

CC Strikers will be looking to retain the championship after being crowned champions when the 2021 season was abandoned due to COVID.

Curl Curl FC were not far behind though only trailing CC Strikers by two points at the end of the 2021 season and will be playing for top spot.

The Premier League season begins with the first three rounds being played on Sundays throughout the day with reserves starting at 9am and the final first grade match kicking off at 7pm.

Round 1 will see some great football with Beacon Hill taking on St Augustines for their first premier league match. Whilst Harbord will have the pleasure of welcoming Forest Killarney to the league.
