MWFA Looking for Revenge

The MWFA Women’s Select team is looking for revenge in this year’s MWFA vs Northern Suburbs Football Association (NSFA) match on Thursday 24 February, at 7:30pm on Cromer Park 2.

This year will mark the 5th annual match between MWFA and NSFA with both teams having 2 wins to their names.

Last year’s match ended in defeat for MWFA with a 5-3 penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw at full time.

The Kyle Cannon coached team is looking to reclaim the trophy whilst the NSFA side will be travelling to Cromer Park to retain the title for the third consecutive year and take the lead for the series.

The MWFA side will be fielding a strong mix of players from the 2021 premier league teams including returning Select team players Vanessa Cimino (Brookvale), Beth Sweeny (Beacon Hill), Tess Olsen (Manly Allambie), Maddie Kilpatrick (Seaforth) and Steff Davis (Mosman).

Women’s Premier League 2020 Player of the year, Georgia Goulding (Manly Vale), will also be one to watch on Thursday night. The striker will be looking to put pressure on the NSFA defence and put her team in the lead.

The match up is set to be an entertaining clash between the two sides but with a home ground advantage MWFA will be aiming to reclaim the title and enter their match against Manly United Women’s First Grade on Thursday 3rd March as winners.
