The 2022 MWFA Women’s Premier League Select Squad to represent the MWFA in two matches against Northern Suburbs Football Association (NSFA) and Manly United has been named.
Kyle Cannon, the head coach for Manly Allambie United Football Club’s Women Premier League, has been selected to coach the squad following his 2021 Senior Coach of the Year award.
“I’m excited to coach a highly skilled bunch of girls, I get to see them play week in and week out, but it will be nice to not coach against them,” Cannon said.
“It’s a great opportunity for the girls and hopefully they will bring back some positives to our season as you tend to learn things from playing against skilled players.”
The Women’s Select Squad will be looking for a win against NSFA after going down in penalties in last year’s match up.
“Hopefully we will get a few trainings in and bounce back from last year’s loss against NSFA and put on a good showing.” Cannon stated.
“I want the girls to look forward to the opportunity and enjoy it as it is a great honour to be selected for this team”
The MWFA would like to congratulate the following players who have been selected for the 2022 MWFA Women’s Select Squad.
