Wakehurst registered back to back victories for the first time in 2020 with a 3-1 win at Beacon Hill Oval on Sunday afternoon.

Anna Winston headed home a corner to open the scoring early on.

Gabi Miles then found the back of the net to earn the visitors a 2-0 lead at the break.

Beacon Hill emerged out of the interval the stronger side and pulled one back early in the second half.

However Wakehurst weathered the storm and put the result beyond doubt as Sam Coupland pounced on a loose ball in the area to make it 3-1 with less than ten minutes remaining.

Donna Stuart’s side had previously struggled for consistency but appear to be turning their form around heading into the business end of the season.

The first goalscorer Winston was pleased with her side’s form in the final third.

“It was great to come away with the result,” the Wakehurst attacker said.

“We capitalised on our chances and took all of our opportunities today which was great to see.

“That last goal was really important in easing the pressure for our team and making sure we came away with the win.

“Some games this season have been really tight and we’ve lost them in the last ten minutes rather than won them.

“We have some momentum now and that’s what we’re hoping to continue building on.”

Elsewhere, Manly Vale earned bragging rights with a 3-0 triumph over Manly Allambie while Mosman toppled Pittwater 3-0 and Seaforth beat Brookvale by the same scoreline.
