MWFA women's Premier League grand final review

A SECOND half goal from gun striker Ayse Adalis proved decisive, with Beacon Hill beating Manly Allambie 1-0 in Sunday’s women’s grand final.

In a contest Beacon Hill coach Vince Vescio described as a ‘real arm wrestle’, Adalis’ clinical strike landed her team the silverware at Cromer Park.

“Manly Allambie are always a tough opponent, they had plenty of players who could have hurt us,” Vescio said.

“I also knew Ayse could change the game for us, and thankfully she did.”

When reflecting on the season, Vescio described it as “a weird one.”

“We were neck and neck with (league champions) Manly Vale all year, and then all of a sudden finished fourth,” he said.

“I’m happy with how we bounced back the past couple of weeks, winning the grand final was a nice way to finish the season.”
