CREATING club history is one of Manly Allambie’s many sources of motivation ahead of Sunday’s MWFA women’s Premier League grand final against Beacon Hill.

Formed in 1992, the club based at Millers Reserve have never featured in a senior Premier League decider – in men’s or women’s.

“Everyone at the club is buzzing,” coach Kyle Cannon said.

“This squad only entered the competition last year, so to be in a grand final in our second season together is very special.

“We have timed our run well, and it is all about performing this Sunday.

“Beacon Hill have been in this arena many times, but it is all new for our girls.

“Who knows if that (big game experience) will be a factor, I’ll just do my best to have the girls ready to go.”

Beacon Hill, who will be soaring with confidence after knocking off league champions Manly Vale 5-4 in an epic semi-final, are many people’s street tip to hoist the silverware.

“We will turn up and play our game, Manly Allambie are a good side,” coach Vince Vescio said.

“No doubt our girls will have to be at their best to win.”

Kick-off on Sunday at Cromer Park is 5pm.
