CURL CURL marched into the grand final after stunning league champions Brookvale 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Cromer Park.
The Blues led 1-0 at the break, only to then see a brace from Tyson Masters seal a shock result for Anthony Seminara’s men, who were promoted from the AL/1s competition last year.
“No one really gave us a chance pre-game, so it was nice to show what we can do on the big stage,” the jubilant Curly coach said.
“I thought tactically we were fantastic, Brookie have plenty of big game players, and we managed to shut them down, so credit to my boys.
“To be in the grand final in our first season in the competition is an unbelievable effort, but the job is only half done.
“We will enjoy the week and look to be ready for Seaforth on Saturday.”
Fresh from winning the MWFA Challenge Cup, Jordan Lefebvre’s squad got the better of Wakehurst 2-1 in the other semi-final.
In Reserve Grade, St Augustine’s and Pittwater RSL FC beat Brookvale and Curl Curl 2-0 and 4-2 respectively.
