SEAFORTH have surprised everyone all year in the MWFA Premier League – and this weekend they have the chance to show their rapid progress has been no fluke.

Jordan Lefebvre’s men will start favourites in the MWFA Challenge Cup final against an injury ravaged Curl Curl – but don’t expect them to take the squad who wear green and gold lightly.

“Curly have been solid all season after getting promoted, they can score goals from anywhere so we know we are in for a tough game,” Lefebvre said.

“Our run to the final has been good, we started with a big win over Harbord (Seasiders United) 9-2 before then beating Wakehurst, CC Strikers and BTH Raiders.

“It is a chance to win a (major) trophy, it is a big deal and we will be ready.”

Anthony Seminara conceded his Curly squad are wounded.

“We are happy to be in a position to potentially win some silverware, the semi-final win over Pittwater (6-2) showed what we are capable of,” he said.

“Before that we beat Forest Killarney and Narrabeen, the boys always enjoy playing on the big stage, hopefully we can be competitive.”

Kick-off in the MWFA Challenge Cup final is 6pm at Cromer Park.

In the final round of the MWFA Premier League on Saturday afternoon, Narrabeen take on CC Strikers, Dee Why entertain league leaders Brookvale, Wakehurst do battle with Pittwater RSL FC and St Augustine’s tackle Mosman.
