For the first time ever, an all-female refereeing team will take to the pitch on Saturday 20th July to officiate the St Augustines v Seaforth match of the round at Cromer Park.
Naomi Peterson, an experienced MWFRA referee will take charge of the 6pm PL match and Jasmin Hill will officiate the PLR match at 4pm. Both will be supported by Assistant Referees Amelia Brennan and Zahra Chew.
Naomi, Jasmin, Amelia and Zahra all commenced their refereeing careers with the MWFRA as juniors and in the case of Naomi and Jasmin, have progressed through the ranks to PL/PLR level. Indeed, Naomi and Jasmin both refereed representative competitions and are currently on the State League panel.
The MWFRA is incredibly pleased with the number of female referees in the Association this year and it is clear that there will be more female referees following in Naomi and Jasmin’s footsteps in the future.
