MANLY Vale secured the first bit of silverware on offer this season after beating a gallant Forest Killarney 1-0 in Sunday’s MWFA women’s Challenge Cup final at Cromer Park.
The always dangerous Sammy Taylor scored what proved to be the winner in the first half, with Vale comfortably the better side across the 90 minutes.
“I thought we deserved the result, we were fairly dominant,” jubilant Manly Vale co-coach Roland Winter said.
“You just never know though, we were nervous (on the bench) as we couldn’t find that second goal which would have sealed the result.
“Winning trophies is always a good feeling, our focus now is to keep our good form going in the league.”
