MWFA Premier League round two preview

pitt v cc 7

CC Strikers will look to build on an encouraging first up performance when they take on Wakehurst this Saturday at Cromer Park.

The two rival squads produced an epic grand final last season at the same venue, which the Tigers ended up winning on penalties.

Coach Ryan Butcher and his team from St Matthews Farm were left stunned at the final whistle, but have collectively moved on.

“Wakehurst are always a tough opponent, and any time you play a team in a grand final it becomes a bit of a rivalry going forward,” Butcher said.

“We are expecting another high intensity game and our boys are really looking forward to it.

“The Pitts game (last weekend) was a good, hard hit-out to start the season proper and I thought our young lads stood up well under pressure.”

Other games this round see Dee Why host Curl Curl, Brookvale line up against Narrabeen at Cromer Park, Seaforth entertain Mosman and Pittwater RSL FC do battle with St Augustine’s.
