MANLY Allambie coach Kyle Cannon openly admits he knows ‘next to nothing’ about Mosman ahead of their season opener on Sunday at Allan Border Oval.
The Whales have made the step up from the women’s AL/1s competition, while Cannon’s squad will look to build on what was an encouraging 2018.
“I’m happy with our pre-season overall, we started before Christmas and then increased the workload from January,” hesaid.
“We also have a few new faces which is great, I’m all about giving players opportunities.
“In terms of this weekend, Mosman are a bit of an unknown, I saw abit of them in the Cup, but not enough to form a strong view on how they like to play.
“Their pitch (Allan Border Oval) will also play a factor, it’s not great with the cricket pitch in the middle.
“Our girls are really looking forward to the game, round one is always good fun.”
