MANLY Allambie coach Kyle Cannon was left pondering what may have been following a midweek 2-2 draw against Wakehurst.
The competition newcomers were 2-0 up at Ararat Reserve, only to see the Tigers grab a point late.
“It was tough to take, mathematically now we can’t win the league,” Cannon said.
“Credit to Wakehurst, they never gave up, and either them or Beacon Hill will now go on and be champions.
“We are happy to finish in the top four, it has been a successful year which isn’t finished yet.”
This Sunday Avalon host Wakehurst, Seaforth entertain Beacon Hill, Brookvale take on Manly Vale and Manly Allambie welcome Forest Killarney to Millers Reserve.
“We won’t take them lightly, I am sure they(Forest Killarney)would love to sign off with a win,” Cannon said.
“We also need momentum ahead of the semi-finals.”
