PITTWATER RSL FC are determined history won’t repeat itself ahead of Friday’s match of the round versus CC Strikers at Cromer Park.

Two years ago on the final day of the season the greens saw Narrabeen pip them at the post on goal difference after 18 rounds, and defender Peter Stegic hasn’t forgotten that empty feeling.

“We can draw on that experience, the boys were gutted,” he said.

“Narrabeen then went on to win the NSW Champions of Champions title, so it was a case of might have been for us.

“CC Strikers will be tough, they have beaten us this year (in the MWFA Challenge Cup), so they will be up for it.

“Winning the league would be amazing, we don’t need any extra motivation.”

Kick-off is 7.30pm.

On Saturday, Brookvale, who are level on 40 competition points with Pitts but have an inferior for and against, host Manly Vale.

Elsewhere, Seaforth take on Mosman, Dee Why entertain Narrabeen and Wakehurst do battle with St Augustine’s.
