MANLY Vale were formally relegated from the MWFA Premier League on Saturday – but coach Suraj Pillai has vowed they will return over the next couple of years.
The men from David Thomas Reserve defended heroically against Pittwater RSL FC, who got out of jail late.
A 75th minute goal from Tom Reeves proved to be the difference in the 1-0 win at Kitchener for the league leaders.
“I’m definitely keen to hang around to coach the boys,” Pillai said.
“It is an unfinished job, I’m not looking to go elsewhere.
“We now have a chance to rebuild as a squad in the AL1/s competition, I am looking forward to that challenge.”
Elsewhere, Narrabeen stunned Mosman 2-1, Brookvale beat CC Strikers 1-0, Wakehurst outclassed Seaforth 2-0 and Dee Why won 2-1 on the road versus St Augustine’s.
