DEE Why finally returned to form on Saturday, hammering Wakehurst 5-2 at Dee Why Oval.
Swans striker and captain Matt Cooper led by example, scoring four goals.
It followed a lean recent run, with a shock loss to Manly Vale and a draw with Narrabeen.
Coach Stuart Nairn was fairly happy with what his team dished up against the Tigers.
“We knew what they (Wakehurst) were going to throw at us and we handled it well,” the Dee Why boss said.
“I wasn’t happy with the first goal we conceded after halftime, it was a little sloppy.
“If we win our next three games we will finish second, we are working towards that.”
Elsewhere, Pittwater RSL FC were crowned major champions after outclassing Manly Vale 3-0, CC Strikers destroyed Narrabeen 8-0 at Cromer Park, Justin Hayward supplied Brookvale’s crucial goal in a 1-0 win against St Augustine’s and Seaforth beat Mosman 2-1.
