PLAYERS from Harbord Seasiders United celebrated on Sunday afternoon following their 1-1 draw with Brookvale at Allan Border Oval.
And rightly so – it was HSU’s first point of the season.
Rachel Lewis gave her team the lead in the first half, only to see Brookie equalise from a corner early in the second stanza.
“It wasn’t a win, but we will take a draw,” HSU midfielder Alex McGrath said.
“The game was a real arm wrestle, both teams worked hard until the final whistle.
“It is a step in the right direction – and the drinks (post game) at Harbord Bowling Club went down that little bit better.”
HSU have the chance to chalk up a maiden win when they play Avalon in a catch up game on Wednesday night at Millers Reserve from 7pm.
Elsewhere, Manly Vale are looming large as major premiers after beating Beacon Hill 1-0 on Sunday.
Avalon dusted Seaforth 4-2 and Wakehurst did just enough in a 1-0 triumph versus Forest Killarney.
