MANLY Vale’s unbeaten status in the women’s MWFA Premier League is over after Wakehurst beat them 2-0 on Sunday at Lionel Watts Reserve.
Sam Coupland and Anna Nakao were on the score sheet in a gripping contest the Tigers deserved to win.
“It is always nice to beat the competition leaders,” Wakehurst coach Donna Stuart said.
“We are slowly building, I like the direction we are heading as a team.
“Louise Neville has been magnificent for us, her experience (at Manly United) has been crucial in guiding the younger players around the park.”
Elsewhere, Beacon Hill outgunned Brookvale 3-2 and Seaforth thrashed HSU 3-0.
Harbord Seasiders United will back up on Wednesday night at Millers Reserve versus Avalon.
