FOUR goals from Forest Killarney striker Carla Rothwell engineered a 5-4 triumph versus Brookvale on Sunday.
Rothwell had a dream first half at Graham Reserve, toying with the Blues defence.
Victoria Saville also found the back of the net for the underdogs, and Forest Killarney coach Glenn Wood was a happy man at the final whistle.
“Brookie are a big scalp, I’m thrilled for the girls,” he said.
“They (Brookvale) have enjoyed a long successful history in this competition, so to beat them at their place is a fantastic effort.
“We were 5-2 up at halftime, so it was vital we maintained our intensity.
“In the end we were pretty comfortable holding them at bay, we definitely deserved to win.”
Elsewhere, Seaforth beat Wakehurst 2-1 and Beacon Hill outclassed HSU 9-1.
Manly Vale had the weekend off and Avalon cruised into the next round of the State Cup, hammering Camden Tigers 12-2 at Cromer Park.
Three league games will be played on Wednesday night from 7pm.
