NORTHERN Suburbs Football Association Select squad coach Greg Fuchs is confident his team can spring a huge upset next Wednesday night at Cromer Park.
The past couple of years the MWFA Select XI have romped to comfortable victories, but Fuchs, who guided West Pymble to the last two Premier League titles on the north shore as well as last season’s final of the All Age Men’s NSW Champion of Champions, can see a reversal in fortune.
“We have picked boys who run all day and we also have pace up front,” he said.
“I’ve seen the team Paul (Juergens) has picked, he has plenty of quality, but also a few guys I think we can expose.”
Players to watch for the underdogs include central midfielder Eti Amegor (West Pymble), Brad Fielder (Berowra) and Robbie Tall (West Pymble).
Fuchs has intimate knowledge of MWFA Premier League players after briefly coaching Manly Vale a few winters ago.
Kick-off is 7pm and entry is free for spectators.
Juergens’ men then take on Manly United on Wednesday, February 22 from 7pm.
