What a year for Seaforth FC’s U16 Girls and St Augustine’s FC’s U18 Men. Both teams finished 2026 as MWFA League Champions, MWFA Grand Final winners, Football NSW State Cup winners and Champion of Champions winners. It is a remarkable sweep of local and state honours for two of our community clubs.
Seaforth FC’s U16 Girls claimed the State Cup with a commanding 6-0 win over Lindfield FC. Their Champion of Champions Final was a very different test: Amira Sharannizadeh’s long-range free kick put Seaforth ahead against Rockdale City Suns FC, and the girls defended their lead to secure a 1-0 victory. Add their MWFA league and Grand Final titles, and Seaforth’s four-trophy season is complete.
St Augustine’s FC’s U18 Men also collected both state trophies with 4-1 final victories. They defeated White City SC in the State Cup, then faced Lindfield FC in the Champion of Champions decider. That match was still level at 1-1 late on before Saints scored three times to seal the win. The result added to their MWFA league and Grand Final titles and brought an outstanding season to a fitting close.
Congratulations to both teams and to the coaches, managers, families and club volunteers behind them. From the MWFA season to two state finals, Seaforth and St Augustine’s have given the Northern Beaches football community plenty to celebrate.
