CC Strikers FC’s U13/1As are heading to the FNSW CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS GRAND FINAL
In a tense Semi Final at Cromer Park, the boys battled through extra time to claim a 2-1 win over Umina United S.C. Now, with one match left in their Football NSW Champion of Champions campaign, the team shares the journey that brought them to Sunday’s decider:
- Tigers Cup
- State Cup
- MWFA League Champs and;
- MWFA Grand Final, AND now progressing to the Champion of Champions final to hopefully round out the perfect season.
But teams like this don’t come about by chance. This group first came together as combined Strikers U8 team for the Sydney International Cup. Over the years they tested themselves against top teams in tournaments such as Beaches Cup, Tiger Cup, and Sydney International Cup. Growing players as individuals and more importantly as a team.
This season has been a long and challenging journey at times, with families away and injuries testing the squads depth particularly throughout the postseason. This is invariably what makes this competition so challenging to win. This remarkable group of boys (and the families that support them) have shown incredible character, resilience and teamwork to reach this point and are determined to give their all this Sunday at Valentine Sports Park, proudly representing MWFA one more time as they chase the ultimate prize – to be Champion of Champions.”
What a run from CC Strikers FC’s U13 Boys! They’ve earned their place on the Grand Final stage and will be flying the flag for MWFA and the wider Northern Beaches football community. Let’s get behind them for one last big game!
