Our 16 grassroots community clubs – including your club – are volunteer-run clubs. They strive to provide the best possible experience for over 20,000 players, from Mosman to Palm Beach.
We are at that time of the year where grading results are handed down, teams are formed, and divisions selected. All of these undertakings, and many more, are carried out by volunteer age coordinators, registrars, and committee members.
These are not easy jobs and they are always done with the best interests of the players at heart. However, on occasion, difficult decisions have to be made.
Whilst there will always be disappointment over some team placements or division allocations, it’s important to not lose sight of why we play football.
We are a grassroots football association, made up of 16 clubs. We are set up to allow children and adults the opportunity to play football on a weekend, and most of the work is done by volunteers.
Abusing your club volunteers, making unrealistic demands of them, or delivering ultimatums, is not acceptable. These volunteers are doing this work in their own time for your child and for you.
All clubs are trying to serve every player in our 20,000 strong football community. They are striving to offer these players the best possible experience and the respect they deserve.
All we ask is that this respect is reciprocated.
