MWFA Grows Their Coach Mentor Team

Coach Mentor Team 2023

In 2022, MWFA recruited several experienced coaches who were already working with Coach Development Manager Eugene Lawrenz as casual course and workshop presenters to become part-time Coach Mentors, going out to clubs on a regular basis to help coaches with their training sessions and match coaching. This was a very successful program, and we are pleased to have recruited several new Coach Mentors to join our team this year, allowing us to have an even greater reach.

Our current Coach Mentor team includes:
Eugene Lawrenz
Gregor Agic
James Mitchell
Marilinda Winter

We are now pleased to welcome Catriona Ormond and Sai van Wegen to the team as well, both of whom already have experience presenting courses and workshops with us too. We will be posting their profiles on our website in the coming weeks.

Patty Faria and Nina Sallenave are also working with us this season specifically to directly mentor a few female coaches each on a more regular basis as part of our new Female Mentoring Program. More information about this program will be shared later in the season.

Although most official coaching courses for the season have now been completed, we still have one final MiniRoos Certificate available on Thursday June 29 at Cromer Park. If you feel like your training is getting a bit stale, we will give you 30+ new drills to take away, as well as various coaching tips for how to manage and motivate players to keep them focused and to challenge them to improve. See here to register: https://education-ffa.sportingpulse.com/event.asp?ID=27086

We also still have a few Coach Workshops available if you’d like to see us run a session with a real team. These typically focus on a specific topic, for example we have one focused on ‘Playing Out from the Back’ available tonight at Seaforth, as well as ‘Match Coaching’, ‘Spreading Out/Positioning’ and ‘Defending as a Team’ all in mid July after the school holidays.
