Congratulations to Peter Auld and Annette Burgoyne on receiving the Football NSW State Award which is presented to individuals in recognition of outstanding service rendered to the promotion and development of football in the state of NSW on Saturday night at the Football NSW State Dinner.
Peter and Annette are our MWFA registrars, and both play an integral part in ensuring 19,500 players get onto the field at the start of every season and they also play a leading role in ensuring our clubs and players are compliant at the start of each year and Club Registrars are comfortable with all aspects of the Club registrar role.
Peter has held the position of MWFA Registrar since 2014 and sits on the MWFA Registration and Grading Committee but his contribution to football extends way back to when he joined the Manly Vale Football Club in 1966.
He has filled many positions at Manly Vale, but his greatest contribution has been through his work as Registrar, and he still runs around in the Manly Vale Over 45 division 3 team.
Annette joined Peter in 2018 as a MWFA Registrar and also sits on the MWFA Registration and Grading Committee but her volunteer work at grassroots level goes right back to the 1990’s with her beloved Pittwater Football Club.
During her time at Pittwater Annette has been the President for 7 years over three different stints, Registrar from 2000 – 2011 and 2015-2019, Competition Secretary and Age Manager for numerous teams over many years.
Both Peter and Annette have previously received the MWFA Meritorious Service Award in 2005 and 2006, respectively, in recognition of their work with Manly Vale and Pittwater.
In 2007 Annette was also bestowed Life Membership of Pittwater RSL FC.
Congratulations Peter and Annette, two very deserving winners of the Football NSW State Award and the MWFA and our clubs are incredibly grateful to have them both as part of our football community.
