Match of the Round

AL1 Vale v Wake-14May2022-0927

Men’s AL/1

Wakehurst vs St Augustine’s – 3pm – Lionel Watts 4

This Saturday afternoon could see a change in the AL/1 ladder as Wakehurst FC has the chance to take top spot.

Kicking off at 3pm at Lionel Watts 4, Wakehurst will face fifth place St Augustine’s who will be fighting to jump into fourth spot.

Last time these two teams met neither could break the stalemate and so a 1-1 result saw them share the points.

A win is a must for St Augustine’s to keep their finals campaign alive. Sitting three points behind fourth place they cannot afford to drop any points.

Wakehurst on the other hand are striving for top spot and are only separated from the leaders, Manly Vale, by goal difference. With Manly Vale facing last place the likelihood of taking the premiership this weekend is slim, however three points is still vital to keep Wakehurst’s premiership hopes alive.

Women’s O40/1

CC Strikers vs Manly Vale – 3pm – Cromer Park Field 2

CC Strikers and Manly Vale will battle it out for third place this Sunday afternoon at 3pm on Cromer Park 2.

With the teams only two points apart the victor of Sunday’s game will secure third place and potentially a finals appearance.

With Manly Vale sitting in fourth place and only one point ahead of fifth this is a vital game for the team.

Whilst three points for CC Strikers will see them secure third place and further their lead.

With both teams having a string of draws and losses they are both ready for a win.

A 2-1 result between the teams back in May will make for an entertaining match as Manly Vale look for revenge and fight for a finals position and CC Strikers aim to secure their finals appearance.
