Both Beacon Hill and Wakehurst will be hoping their second half of the 2020 MWFA Premier League Women’s season bears more fortune than the first.
This Sunday’s clash would usually shape as a standout fixture between the 2018 and 2019 Grand Final winners who finished in second and fourth spot last season.
However this time around, Wakehurst sit in sixth and Beacon Hill at the foot of the ladder in eight.
Vince Vescio’s injury-ravaged side are still searching for their first win of the campaign, while Wakehurst are looking to kick on with some improved finishing in the final third.
“It’s always a tight battle versus Beacon and neither team this year has hit consistent form,” Wakehurst coach Donna Stuart said.
“We have been very poor in converting the many scoring opportunities that we have been creating so hopefully this week we can convert those chances.
“I know Beacon have sustained some injuries to key players but they always lift against us.”
