BROOKVALE were crowned champions for the first time in a decade after thrashing 5-0 Dee Why on Saturday afternoon.

Striker Justin Hayward scored four goals in the first half, as the Swans had no answers to his pace and clinical nature in front of goal.

Danny Grant chipped in with a fifth goal before Brookie turned their focus to next weekend’s semi-final.

Veteran Blues defender Adam Demasi paid tribute to his teammates for holding their nerve when it mattered.

“We did what we had to, we started well and went on with it,” he said.

“The great thing about this squad is that we work hard for each other, it has been that way all season.

“On a personal level, I can’t wait to play in the (NSW) Champion of Champions again, it has been a long time since we played in that competition.”

Elsewhere, Seaforth finished second after their midweek 1-0 win over Curl Curl, Pittwater RSL FC stunned Wakehurst 2-0, Narrabeen and CC Strikers played out a 3-3 draw and Mosman got the better of St Augustine’s 3-2.

Dee Why have the chance to avoid relegation when they take on Manly Vale’s AL/1s in a historic MWFA Premier League playoff this Wednesday night at Cromer Park from 7.30pm.

Meanwhile, Seaforth outclassed Curl Curl 4-0 in the MWFA Challenge Cup final on Saturday night.

Alex Robinson, Adam Tonko, James Hart and Aaron Roberts were on target for Jordan Lefebvre’s men, with classy midfielder Daniel Deblaere the man of the match in freezing conditions at Cromer Park.
