MWFA women's Premier League round 10 preview

WPL-MVvBrook12May19-5112

HEIDI van Weeren knew what she signed up for when she took over as head coach of Brookvale FC in the off-season.

A new look Blues squad, filled with plenty of young talent – but lacking experience.

This campaign has been a testing one, but van Weeren has enjoyed the numerous challenges.

“It is a process, you can’t expect instant success when you have so many young girls,” she said ahead of Sunday’s home tussle with Mosman at Graham Reserve.

“I will also say it is a very strong competition, for me definitely stronger than the past few years, the standard has gone through the roof.

“We have learnt on the run, but injuries have also been a factor.

“Not being able to call on my first choice XI has been difficult, but I feel we are slowly improving, which is great.”

Elsewhere on Sunday, Wakehurst do battle with Forest Killarney, Seaforth host Manly Vale and Manly Allambie play Beacon Hill.
