The Manly Warringah football community has rallied behind injured Curl Curl player Richard Tombs to raise more than $90,000 in the inaugural Tombsy Cup last weekend at Cromer Park.

32 teams took part in the 7-a-side tournament, each team playing $1,000 to enter, as male and female players from all over the Northern Beaches converged on Cromer Park to raise money for the Tombs Family.

Following the tournament, a celebrity game was played on Cromer Park No. 1 with the likes of Steve Waugh, Craig Johnston, Graham Arnold, Mayor Michael Regan, Nick Farr-Jones, Adam Goodes, Carissa Tombs and Steve Corica all taking part in what was a fantastic occasion.

A post match function was held inside the Cromer park Clubhouse, which went late into the night as the players and supporters dug deep in raffles and auctions to help raise more than $90,000.

The funds were boosted by a $25,000 donation from the MWFA, $3,000 from Curl Curl Youth Club, $1,000 from the MWFRA (referees) and the $1,000 per team, highlighting the community spirit from the entire Manly Warringah football community that drove the day.
