WAKEHURST facea stern test of character when they travel to Graham Reserve to tackle unbeaten Brookvale this Saturday.
The Tigers recorded their first league win last start and coach Paul Juergens wants to see his team build on that encouraging performance.
“We have been a bit scratchy early on, but I saw some good signs in our win against Narrabeen last Friday night,” he said.
“All our goals came from midfield, which is good, we aren’t relying on the blokes up front each week.
“Brookie for me are the benchmark of the competition, we respect how they are shaping up.
“If we can shut down (Justin) Hayward, and limit his supply from the midfield, we will be a chance.”
Other games see Dee Why take on Pittwater RSL FC in a grand final replay (Cromer Park, Friday night, 7.30pm), CC Strikers host Mosman, Manly Vale play Seaforth and Narrabeen do battle with St Augustine’s.
