FOREST Killarney president Scott Larsen is still beaming – despite the NSW Champion of Champions finals finishing just over a week ago.

It was a red letter day for the club at Valentine Sports Park, winning the 12s and 14s boys deciders on Sunday, October 22.

“The collective success of both our teams is undoubtedly my highlight as club president,” Larsen, who has been in the hot seat at Melwood Oval for five years, said.

“It is a fantastic achievement to finish as winners in two very competitive age groups at that level.

“All the players work hard, technically are outstanding and have very supportive parents.

“It also shows the club systems we have in place from a very young age clearly work.”

In the 12s final, Henri Tremauville was the name on everyone’s lips, netting a brilliant hat-trick in a 3-1 triumph versus Kemps Creek.

George Manticos is in charge of the 12/1s.

Danny Panetta showed he is a coach on the rise after guiding his youngsters in the 14s to a 2-0 win against a very physical Auburn District.

His son Damon Panetta and Matthew Brannan graced the score sheet in the hard fought win at the home of Football NSW.

In a remarkable feat, the success saw Forest Killarney’s 14s boys go back to back at NSW Champion of Champions level after snaring the silverware in the 13s final of 2016.

Elsewhere, CC Strikers fought valiantly until the final whistle in the 15s boys before losing 2-1 to Fairfield Pats.

Wakehurst’s 30 women also fell at the final hurdle, beaten 2-0 by Mt Colah.
