Relief for PL St Augustine's

MVPL v StAugs-6121-sml 430x288

THE COLLECTIVE relief was obvious when St Augustine’s won their first game of the year on Saturday in the MWFA Premier League, beating CC Strikers 4-2 at St Matthews Farm.

An old fashioned ‘rocket’ at halftime from Saints coach Nick Tomaino worked a treat, with goals from Josh Jacka-Easter (2), Jake Savage and Mitch Amery securing a much needed three points.

“I read them the riot act and they responded,” Tomaino said.

“Our boys hit our straps in the second half, it was pleasing to see.

“We are keen to play well again this Wednesday in the (FA) Cup versus Curl Curl.”

Elsewhere, Pittwater RSL FC outclassed Dee Why 3-1, Brookvale hammered Mosman 7-2, Wakehurst thumped Manly Vale 3-0 and Seaforth are on fire, outgunning Narrabeen 5-3 to maintain their perfect start to 2017.
