DESPITE losing 4-0 to Pittwater RSL FC on Saturday, Manly Vale coach Bob Catlin insists it is not panic stations at David Thomas Reserve.
Down on troops, Vale played defensive from the outset.
They kept the greens honest, with two late goals making the end score a little harsh on the home side.
“Obviously it wasn’t the result we wanted first up,” Catlin said.
“It was all hands on deck, we only had 11 fit players for first grade.
“Credit to Pittwater, they took their chances, but I know we will be miles better with more players to call on.”
Dom Reason (2), Mitch Macedo and Adam Carstens scored Pittwater’s goals.
Elsewhere, CC Strikers stunned Narrabeen 3-0, Brookvale beat St Augustine’s 3-2 with Justin Hayward scoring a brace, Seaforth impressed in a 2-0 win versus Mosman and Wakehurst v Dee Why finished 2-2.
