Manly Warringah Football Association welcomes Mark Femia to its board for the next three years.
Mark is a lifetime Northern Beaches resident, who started his football journey by playing for Curl Curl U6s and ended up playing football for over 35 years, including a stint playing for Manly.
He also has extensive coaching experience in both women’s and men’s football. Mark was the inaugural coach of Beacon Hill’s Women’s Premier League squad, a position he held for five seasons. More recently, Mark has been a coach with the Narrabeen Men’s Premier League team for the last three years, as well as being the assistant coach of the MWFA Select Team. In addition to coaching commitments, Mark has served on various Committees for both Beacon Hill and Narrabeen.
When he’s not dedicating his time to football, Mark is a Director of an insurance advisory business which serves a wide variety of clientele, while he also provides insurance consultancy services. Mark is vastly experienced in the insurance industry and prior to his current role, he was National Manager for a large international insurance brokerage firm. It was in the insurance industry that Mark earned experience serving on a Board, as a member of an advisory Board for three different major life insurers.
While this is Mark’s first time as an MWFA Board member, he does have previous MWFA experience, as a member of the Association’s Grading Committee during its inaugural season.
Mark is passionate about supporting the pathways for local juniors into Manly United, improving local football facilities, and growing our junior participation numbers. We look forward to Mark’s contributions as a member of our Board – if you haven’t already done so, please congratulate Mark on his appointment when you see him!
