BROOKVALE coach Simon Euers could be excused for thinking this weekend has a Groundhog Day feel about it.
The Blues take on CC Strikers in the match of the round at Cromer Park – just four days after the squads squared off in the MWFA Challenge Cup final.
“It is unusual to play the same opposition so quickly, but we know what CC Strikers are all about,” Euers said.
“They work tirelessly as a unit until the final whistle.
“I’m expecting a very tough game on Saturday.”
The bold decision to rest star striker Justin Hayward from Wednesday’s Cup triumph could be a masterstroke for Brookie.
With just three rounds before the semi-finals, the Blues are equal on points (34)with league leaders Pittwater RSL FC, with the greens well ahead on goal difference.
Hayward is tipped to play this weekend, and he looms as the difference, such is his quality in front of goal.
Elsewhere, Mosman play Narrabeen on Friday night, Pitts entertain Manly Vale, Wakehurst do battle with Seaforth and St Augustine’s tackle Dee Why.
