GAME LEADER COURSES POPULAR AGAIN IN 2019

IMG_3354_0 (002)

Around 200 mums and dads attended MWFA Game Leader courses throughout March and April, getting a chance to have a kick while also learning about the role of Game Leaders in U6/U7, U8/U9 and U10/U11 MiniRoos football.

The Game Leaders picked up tips on how to keep the game flowing as well as teaching the players the basic rules, while a big emphasis was put on making sure all teams follow the rules around goalkicks (getting opponents to move back so the team with the ball can play out) and offside (the offside rule does not officially apply in these age groups, but players are strongly discouraged from permanently standing in blatant offside positions).

MWFA would like to thank all of the participants and wish them luck for the season.

We would also like to thank host clubs Forest Killarney, Manly Vale, Mosman and Pittwater, while also giving credit to CC Strikers and Wakehurst who by far had the highest number of attendees across all the different dates.

Extra special thanks goes to MWFA Vice-President of Junior Football Tony Davies, who volunteered his time to assist with all of these courses.
