MANLY Vale’s players are bracing themselves for a resurgent Avalon when the squads go head to head this Sunday at Careel Bay.

The Reds have finally clicked into gear, winning their last three games (including State Cup) after losing five matches on the trot in the league.

“We always expected them to come good,” Manly Vale co-coach Roland Winter said.

“It was hard to understand their slow start,Avalon are a quality side.

“We can take plenty of confidence from our last start win against Wakehurst, everyone worked hard across the 90 minutes and we got the result.

“The aim is to build on that performance.”

It promises to be a big day at Careel Bay, with Avalon hosting Super Sunday – A Celebration of Female Football.

Matildas star Chloe Logarzo will make a guest appearance.

Elsewhere, Manly Allambie host Beacon Hill in a juicy top of the table clash, Wakehurst take on Seaforth and Brookvale do battle with Forest Killarney.
