Seaforth Gaining Momentum

SEAFORTH’s bid to avoid relegation from the MWFA Premier League has gained momentum after they beat Brookvale 2-1 on Saturday.

Michael McGinley and Matt Molloy scored the goals at Seaforth Oval for the hosts, in what was a grinding affair.

“We needed those three points badly, it was a backs to the wall effort,” coach Adam Israel said.

“I was forced to make six changes from our previous game due to injuries, and once Brookie scored one late, I feared they would get another and we would finish with a point.

“There is still plenty of work to do, but the morale is there, I can’t fault the effort.”

Other games saw St Augustine’s move into second after dusting Dee Why 4-2, Pittwater RSL FC and Narrabeen finished 2-2, Manly Vale thumped Mosman 6-2 and Wakehurst outclassed Manly Allambie 3-0.

Sunday’s women’s fixtures were called off due to heavy rain.
