Too late for Brookie?

BROOKVALE’s impressive late season charge in the MWFA Premier League could see them enter the top four this Saturday – at the perfect time of year.

In what has been an inconsistent campaign for the Blues, three points against relegated Manly Vale will potentially see them finish in fourth.

As it stands, Brookie trail Wakehurst by three points – but with the Tigers away to Pittwater RSL FC at Kitchener, Brookie are getting excited behind the scenes.

“It is frustrating not to have the situation in our own hands, but we weren’t consistent early on,” defender Adam Demasi said.

“We need Pittwater to do us a big favour, but we also know Manly Vale will give us a good game at their place (David Thomas Reserve) – it is their last in the (MWFA) Premier League.

“Our combinations are finally clicking, hopefully it isn’t too late.”

As it stands, Brookvale and Wakehurst have the same goal difference – plus 12.

A draw will be enough for the Tigers to play semi-final football.

Other games see Mosman host CC Strikers, St Augustine’s tackle Narrabeen and Dee Why entertain Seaforth, with the Sara Murton Memorial Cup up for grabs.
